Medical Director
John Thorp, MD has more than 36 years of superb clinical, research and academic service. He is the Hugh McAllister Distinguished Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Executive Director
Suse Ruiz, practiced psychiatry as a medical doctor in Paraguay before coming to the U.S. She began as a volunteer at Birthchoice in 2011, and then transitioned to Client Services Manager. Suse is responsible for the management and direction of the mission; as well as training volunteers and managing educational materials used for clients.
Nurse Manager
Denelle Kolkmann has spent her 33-year career as an Ob/Gyn registered nurse. She manages all medical services and volunteers.
Operations Manager
Ann Kane manages administrative duties for the organization.
Development Director
Janelle Buchanan manages fundraising and outreach activities in the community.
